Travel in time to learn about an ancient Sanskrit epic- Ramayana part 2 Starting from Aranya-kaanda
Arjun Bharadwaj is a writer and translator, well-versed in Sanskrit, Kannada, English, German, and Greek. With a deep interest in classical literature, art, and philosophy, he is a contributing editor of Prekshaa and is currently studying the comparative aesthetics of classical Greek and Indian arts. He has (co-)translated many books, authored over thirty research articles, enjoys composing poems, plays the flute, writes lyrics for dancers, and also teaches the fundamentals of the Nāṭyaśāstra at many institutions.
Course overview
The above course is a complete Textual Study of Vālmīki Rāmāyaṇa. There are many misconceptions about the story of the epic, its characters and situations. Going through the original text will resolve all such troubles.
It will include
* Textual Reading of the significant segments of original Vālmīki Rāmāyaṇa
* Birds eye view of Rāmāyaṇa in Indian Arts
* Philosophical learnings from the Rāmāyaṇa
* Application of Rāmāyaṇa to current life
(ages 12 and above; no pre-requisites)
Duration of the course: 9 months - 60 hours
Regular live Zoom classes will be on Thursday at 7.15 PM IST.
Attending live classes is mandatory as that is the best way of learning and it will also have an interactive Q&A session after class.
Recordings will be provided to course participants for reference.
