Mandala Art

Mandala art is a geometric design that holds a great deal of symbolism in Hindu and Buddhist cultures. Mandala is a Sanskrit word for “circle” or “completion”. There is a central starting point from where a circular pattern emerges in essence the beginning and the end of a mandala. This evidence of a circle or completion promotes both healing and peace. Mandalas are typically produced on paper or cloth and drawn on a surface with threads, fashioned in bronze, or built-in stone. Mandalas are both therapeutic and symbolic. The process of creating round symmetrical images is beneficial for healing while spiritually promoting mindfulness to focus attention.

About the course

As our pace of life increases, our stress increases, and the time spent on relaxing activities decreases. Creating a Mandala is a soothing and therapeutic activity that can be described as almost meditative. When someone creates a Mandala, it also becomes a window for exploring one’s inner self. Mandalas were originally symbols for the universe and even today they give us a sense of belonging as we examine our own connection within. You can create Mandala in patterns in any shape. The art needs lots of patience and precision. Circular Mandala is generally drawn in symmetrical patterns and you can experiment with colors and patterns while creating this art. Create and explore the magical art of mandalas in a fun and nurturing workshop making your mandala in rich, vibrant colors. This art workshop will make you feel relaxed yet focused and mindful.

Like the pathbreaking expressionist and post-modernist artists, explore the world of Gouache paints, with its unique texture combining the best of both water and acrylic paints. Experience the strokes of the thick gouache paints, that lend both an opaqueness and luminosity to the finished work.
