Traditionally, it is played as a part of devotional musical ensembles like bhajan and qawwali. However, its versatility has allowed it to build popularity among diverse music styles all over the world.

About the course

A beginning into the fundamentals of the Tabla taught in an interactive and fun way. The focus is on laying a strong, sound foundation for the commencement of a journey into the music world. The experienced team of WFAC trainers and professionals have curated a 15 module program to complete the curriculum upto the Visharad (graduation) level, as recognised by universities across the globe. These modules are of varying lengths (3 months to 6 months). Once a module is completed, you are eligible to join the next one.

Shri Prakash Dehspande

Shri Prakash Deshpande started his musical journey at age 15 with Pt Rajgopal Kallurkar and went on to be tutored and mentored by the renowned Pt. Seshagiri Hangal in Dharwad, Karnataka winning several awards in the bargain. He is a B grade artist with All India Radio and an MA Music in Tabla from Karnatak University, Dharwad. His passion is to contine teaching students in the traditional Gurukula system and multitudes of children have had the honour of learning tabla under his tutleage in the various schools he mentors

Shri Amit Mishra

Amit Mishra is an exponent of the renowned Banaras Gharana of Indian Classical Music. He was both inspired and blessed by his maternal grandfather, the late Tabla Maestro Padmabhushan Pt. Samta Prasad Mishra Ji. He then received advanced instruction from his Guru, the internationally acclaimed late Pt. Sharda Sahai Ji, the founder of the Banaras Gharana. He has accompanied some of the finest artists of Indian classical music. Amit has collaborated and given concerts with many Indian and International artists. At present, he is working on world music and classical music of India.

Shri Amitraj

Amitraj was initiated into Tabla at a young age by Pandit Rajgopal Kallurkar of Farukkabad Gharana and has been in his tutelage ever since. He has established himself as an able soloist and also accompanied several able classical musicians of India. He has made his name in light music and film music and is a part of Fusion bands Hamsadhwani and Jalwa. He is a regular performer on TV and radio and has given several concerts in India and abroad.
