The great Sri Krishnadevaraya introduced this art in India, this beautiful folk art flourished in temples appearing on scrolls, temple hanging, chariot banners. Depictions of flora and fauna, dieties, and scenes taken from epics like Ramayana, Mahabharata and puranas. Today Kalamkari art is used on ethnic clothing, crafts, wall paintings and paintings made in different mediums.
