Vallabhacharya (1479–1531), a renowned philosopher and saint, founded the Pushtimarg sect (Path of Grace) within the Krishna Bhakti tradition. He propagated Shuddhadvaita Vedanta and emphasised pure, selfless devotion to Lord Krishna. Through his teachings and establishment of numerous temples and havelis, he fostered intense personal bhakti, especially centred on Krishna’s childhood leelas. His philosophy of grace and devotion deeply influenced Gujarati and Rajasthani culture and continues to thrive through the Pushtimarg tradition.
