: Hemachandra (1088–1172 CE), also known as Acharya Hemachandra, was a prominent Jain scholar, poet, and grammarian from Gujarat. He made a significant contribution by unifying Sanskrit and Prakrit grammar in his monumental work Siddha-Hema-Shabdanushasana. A versatile genius, he authored important secular works on lexicography, poetics, yoga, and history. His scholarly efforts enriched both Jain philosophy and classical Indian literature, making him one of the most respected intellectuals of medieval India.
