Sant Kabir (c. 1398–1518), one of the most influential saints of the Bhakti and Sufi traditions, promoted Nirgun bhakti through his powerful dohas and pads. Born into a Muslim weaver family but disciple of Ramanand, Kabir strongly criticised religious orthodoxy, idol worship, and caste discrimination. His poems fostered Hindu-Muslim unity by emphasising the oneness of God and the equality of all human beings. His simple yet profound teachings continue to inspire spiritual harmony and social equality across India.
